Investigating Teacher Student Interactions that Foster Self-Regulated Learning – Nancy E. Perry, Karen O. VandeKamp, Louise K. Mercer & Carla J. Nordby
This scientific article identifies barriers and supports for students’ engagement in activities that promote SRL. Through extensive observations within general classroom settings, Dr. Perry identifies how the creation of opportunities for students to make choices, adjust tasks to meet their needs, receive feedback and evaluate their learning facilitates students’ willingness to engage in tasks that foster SRL. Clear descriptions and examples of how classroom teachers implement these practices are provided, thereby making this article especially relevant for those working in school settings.
